Servings: 8

Prep Time: 30 min.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cup grape juice
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 containers rinsed and chopped or mashed raspberries

Supplies

  • Frozen pop molds
  • 8 wooden craft sticks
Tip: Instead of chopping the raspberries, you can place them in a bowl and let your child mash them with a fork.

Directions

  1. Step 1

Combine the sugar and the water in a small saucepan. Parents can bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until the sugar is melted. Transfer to a medium bowl placed over another bowl of water and ice cubes for quick cooling.

  2. Step 2

When the sugar and water mixture is cool, remove the medium bowl from the bowl of ice water. Add the grape juice and yogurt to the sugar mixture. Kids can blend the ingredients using a whisk or wooden spoon. Add the raspberries and mix with a big spoon.

  3. Step 3

Pour or spoon the raspberry mixture into the frozen pop molds and insert the craft sticks. Place the pops in the freezer and chill until set, about 4 hours or overnight.

Tip: You may want to assemble the medium bowl over the bowl filled with water and ice before you start heating the sugar and water mixture. This way you'll be ready to start cooling the mixture as soon as the sugar is dissolved.
